Andy Alexander Obituary, Death – Andrew “Andy” Alexander, who had previously worked as the city attorney of Greenville, passed away recently, and we are writing to let everyone know about his loss. Errick D. Simmons, the Mayor of Greenville, has released a statement in response to the passing of Andy Alexander, who had previously worked for the city as the City Attorney.
The commencement of Attorney Alexander’s career with the City of Greenville can be traced back to February 1996, when he was first elected to serve as a councilman for Ward 3 in the city. This election marked the beginning of Alexander’s stay with the city. After serving as a Councilman for Ward 3 until the end of its term in 2000, he was eventually appointed to the job of Interim City Attorney on August 29, 2000. On the 31st of January, 2022, Andy Alexander departed from his role as city attorney after having already resigned from the office.
Andy will be remembered as a person who put in a lot of effort, was dedicated to his career, and handled the responsibilities of his job with care for as long as anyone can remember. His passing is being mourned by a sizeable number of persons who worked for the City of Greenville and residents of the surrounding neighborhood. We are going to miss having him here with us.
