Barry Dufrain Car Accident – This has a really negative impact on me. I was recently informed that a close friend of mine named Barry DuFrain passed away as the result of a car accident that occurred last night. I first met Barry at Target, where, along with a large group of other people, we were instrumental in getting the Bradley store of Target up and operating. He has developed into a wonderful friend over the course of his life.
Generous, loyal, charming, and fun-loving are just a few of the thousands of good qualities that can be used to define this incredible human being. He made sure that my books were always available at Barnes & Noble, and if there was an author event at any Barnes & Noble location in the Chicagoland region, he always asked me if I wanted to participate so that he could get my name listed as one of the authors.
Every time I went into Barnes & Noble, whether it was once a week or four times a week, I would look for him there so that we could have a conversation about the most recent movies we watched, any upcoming conventions we were attending, and just about life in general. Even attendance at a handful of major conventions early the next year was already penciled in for us as a possibility. I am at a loss for words to describe what a tragic and unexpected loss this is to the world, to the individuals who knew him, and to the people who will never get the opportunity to do so. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
