Barry Lynch Obituary, Death – The word “heartbroken” doesn’t seem adequate to describe how we are feeling today in the wake of the untimely departure of our esteemed colleague and close friend Barry Lynch.
Over the past few years, Barry’s contributions have been indispensable to our efforts, and it is difficult to picture what life would be like without him in it.
Our days were brightened by his encyclopedic knowledge of music, immaculate flair, irresistible humor, and of course, that gorgeous moustache. A rhymer named Annie June Callaghan referred to him as a “lighthouse of a man” today, and we can think of no words that more accurately describe him; he was a brilliant light in our world and a beacon of fortitude.
In the past few weeks, there has been an outpouring of love from friends, audiences, and colleagues, which is a monument to a man who touched the lives of everyone he knew. Together with them, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to his wife Siobhan, his cherished children Jayne and Hannah, wee Cormac, who was the apple of his eye, his siblings, and all of his other relatives and friends. We are better people for having known him, and we will always cherish the time we had with him; may he rest in peace.
