Calvin Ness Car Accident, Death –  At the age of 87, Calvin, who resided in Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away in a calm and quiet home setting. On December 24, 1932, Calvin Bailey was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. His parents, the late Calvin Bailey Sr. and Edna (Hubbell) Bailey, were his parents. He served his country with distinction while he was a member of the United States Army as well as the United States Marine Corps.

Calvin’s employment history includes stints as a chain assembler at Morse Chain, a unit guard at Ithaca Gun, and a custodial position with the Ithaca City School District. He spent a good portion of his life as an active participant in the activities of the American Legion Post 770 in Trumansburg. His family had a lot of affection for him, and they will miss him very much.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Jane Bailey; three sons, Calvin Bailey III, Leonard Bailey, and Terance (Kim) Bailey; daughter, Elaine (Dennis) Francis; 10 grandchildren, Calvin Bailey IV, Seth (Kenna) Bailey, Rebekah Francis, Joey Bailey, Jessica (Brian) Chapman, Jane (Shawn) Brown, Emily (Jeremy) Yann, Terance Bailey Jr., Mike (Samantha) Bailey, and Janelle (Aaron Simmons) Bailey; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Atkins; and a brother, Lyle Bailey.

Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery will be the location of the private burial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 770, which can be sent to the following address: PO Box 456, Trumansburg, New York 14886.
