Carol Leggett Obituary, Death – We are sorry to inform you that Carol Leggett passed away in Columbus, Georgia on May 17, 2023 at the age of 89. Carol Leggett was born in Meridian, Mississippi, and she spent most of her life there. Meridian, Mississippi, was Carol’s hometown when she was born. On this memorial page, friends and relatives are invited and given the opportunity to express their condolences to the family in the form of remarks that they can write right here on the page.

Her parents, Edward W. Brown and Susie Kate Hyde Brown, as well as her siblings Edward C. Brown, Ralph Alonzo Brown, Buford H. Brown, Agnes Aunita Harbour, Dorothy Anna Gill, Susie Rebecca “Ruth” Ray, and Ollie Jean Walston, as well as her nieces Kay Ray Davis, Rebecca Ray Edwards, and Kim Brown Naseman Wilson, as well as her nephew James Butch Ray, all passed away before she did. Her nieces are the only people who will remember her.

She is survived by her husband, J. Willard Leggett III; her children, John C. Leggett and his wife Julie of Calhoun and Laura Leggett Raines and her husband Steve of Columbus; her granddaughters, Kate Leggett O’Toole and her husband Patrick of Nashville, Tennessee, Lucy Leggett of New York City, New York, Caroline Leggett of Athens, and Eliza Raines and Olivia Raines of Columbus; and her brother Vernon E. Brown of Enterprise

The visitation that will take place on Sunday, June 4th 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM will take place in the Christian Center at Millsaps College, which is located at 1701 N State St, Jackson, Mississippi 39202. On Sunday, June 4th, 2023, between the hours of 3:00 and 3:30 PM, a memorial service will be place at Millsaps College, which is located at 1701 N State St in Jackson, Mississippi 39202.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the J. Willard and Louise Leggett Scholarship Fund at Millsaps College, 1701 North State St., Jackson, Mississippi 39210 or millsaps.edu. The scholarship fund is named in honor of J. Willard Leggett and Louise Leggett. You can also email the family your sympathies through the Millsaps College website at millsaps.edu.
