Ashby, 57 years old, a citizen of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at 4:22 p.m., at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital, also situated in Taylorville, Illinois. He was born on June 14, 1964 in Taylorville, Illinois, and his parents were Melvin Wayne Ashby and Faye (Hoy) Ashby Jr. He was the son of Melvin Wayne Ashby.
In Stonington, Illinois, on September 10, 2005, he and Stephanie Fisher exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. David was a die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues, and the Cincinnati Bengals. His hobbies were singing karaoke at Y-Zoes and the Thunderbird, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He also loves singing karaoke. He is survived by his Wife: Stephanie Ashby of Taylorville, IL; Daughters:
Megan (David) Siegrist of Taylorville, IL, Madison Ashby of Taylorville, IL; step-Son: Jeff Dugan of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Finnley and Annie Siegrist of Taylorville, IL; Mother: Faye Halford of Taylorville, IL; Brothers: Tim Ashby of Springfield, IL; Ed Gillen of Taylorville, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather, in addition to his father, had preceded him in death. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 28, 2021, there will be a visitation held at the Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
The visitation will begin at four in the afternoon and continue until six in the evening. The wake will get underway at six o’clock in the evening, and the funeral service will start promptly at seven. The service, which will take place at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville and be presided over by Pastor Gerald McPhillips, will be open to the public. The funeral service and the burial rites will take place at a later date. The family requests that those who attend the services dress in an informal way as per their request.
