Dimitrios Jim Salakas Obituary, Death – SALAKAS, Dimitrios (Jim) 25.06.1936 – 06.05.2023
Jim Salakas, who resided in Eastlakes, New South Wales, and was 87 years old when he passed away on May 6, 2023 at Sacred Heart in Darlinghurst as he was quietly resting, Jim Salakas passed away at Sacred Heart. He put up a brave fight against the various age-related diseases that ultimately led to the loss of his life.

The city of Kastellorizo in Greece is where Jim’s birth took place. Son of Diamataris and Evangelia Salakas, he is survived by his wife Maria, his children Damon and Evangelia, his grandson Dimitrios, his siblings Eleni Karavelatzis (sister), Christos Salakas and Chrisostomos Salakas (brothers), as well as numerous extended relatives and treasured friends. He was born in Greece. His mother and father, Diamataris and Evangelia Salakas, passed away before he was born.

Because of his one-of-a-kind brand of compassion, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his amazing sense of humor, Jim will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of calling him a friend. Both Sacred Heart Palliative Care in Darlinghurst and Frederick House in Waterloo provided Dimitrios with sensitive care, and his family would like to convey their gratitude for this.

The public is invited to attend the viewing, which will take place on Friday, May 12th, 2023, from 1pm to 2pm at John Wheatley Funeral Services, located at 108 Waldron Road, Chester Hill, New South Wales. St. Spyridon Church, which can be found at 72 Gardeners Road in Kingsford, New South Wales, will be the location of the funeral ceremonies that will be held on the 15th of May, 2023 at 10 o’clock in the morning. As soon as the memorial service is over, the procession will make its way to the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, which is located at 12 Military Road in Matraville.
