Donna Reed Obtuary, Death – Bridgeport, Michigan native Donna Jean Reed On Thursday, May 25, 2023, a cherished mother and grandma passed away quietly in her home with her family by her side. 80 years old was she. To the late Clinton D. and Marian G. (Lambert) Aldrich in Bridgeport, Michigan, Donna Jean Aldrich was born on January 23, 1943. She graduated with honors from Frankenmuth High School in 1961. Donna met the love of her life, Richard Robert Reed, when she was still a student.
He died on August 24, 2000, and she was married on August 19, 1961, at Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport after going on dates, falling in love, and getting hitched. Donna then started a 35-year career with Bridgeport Spaulding Schools as a bus driver, ending on May 31, 2005. Her life’s work consisted of being a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandma. She was a lifetime member of the Bridgeport Gun Club and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
From 2001 to 2021, she served as secretary on the board of the Bridgeport Gun Club. Donna liked to play cards, paint wood crafts, and sew. She loved and adored her family a great deal, especially her grandchildren. Although she had a tendency to be stubborn, she will always be remembered for having a heart of gold, for being generous to those in need, and for having had a life that is truly fantastic and is full of wonderful memories and tales.
Three children—Robin Reed of Bridgeport, Brian Reed (Kathy) of Round Hill, Virginia, and Richard Reed (Heather) of Burt—as well as three grandchildren—Ashley Reed, Brianna Reed, and Samantha Reed—as well as a brother-in-law—Richard Lyle of Bridgeport—remain.
