According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the man who was driving the ATV in which McKnight was a passenger while he was under the influence of alcohol while operating the vehicle was Jacob Estes, 31, who is from Benton, Kentucky. Estes was driving the ATV while McKnight was a passenger.
McKnight was also suffering from the effects of alcohol consumption. Estes is being charged with manslaughter in the second degree, wanton endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, driving on a revoked licence as a result of a past conviction for DUI, as well as charges involving ATVs. Additionally, Estes is being charged with driving while his licence was suspended as a result of a prior conviction for DUI. These allegations come on top of a previous conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is anticipated that he will offer his testimony during the latter half of this month during the preliminary hearing that is being held.
