Emily Brown Obituary, Death – Emily Jo Brown, age 13, previously of Alma, Michigan, and currently residing in Houghton Lake, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, Funeral Services will be place at Smith Family Funeral Homes in St. Louis, Michigan, with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating the ceremony. On Monday, May 22, 2023, the funeral home will be open for visitation from four in the afternoon until eight in the evening.
The 31st of July, 2009 found Emily being welcomed into the world in Alma, Michigan. Her parents are Todd Richard Brown and Amanda Jo Freed. She received her education in the Alma Public Schools. Emily’s interests in music and writing were her true passions. She loved being among animals, going on nature walks, and sitting around campfires with her family. Emily was a very skilled visual artist.
Her interests included fashion, make-up, and shopping. She made it a habit to see the sun set over the lake whenever she could. Her loved ones, especially her family and friends, will miss her sense of humor, her pranks, and her goofiness. She is survived by her mother Amanda Freed of Alma, Michigan; her father Todd Brown of Middleton, Michigan; her brother Evan Brown of Alma, Michigan; her grandmother Sheila McElhaney of Lake, Michigan; her grandparents David and Mary Jo Freed of Levering, Michigan; her grandmother Cristie Brown of Higgins Lake, Michigan; her grandparents Rodney and Cyndi Brown of Crystal, Michigan; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her great-grandparents, AJ and Joyce Freed, Carolyn Coston, Carol and Sybil Brown, and Duane and Beverly Hoeft, all passed away before she was born.
