Eric Mueller Obituary, Death – An Ontario Provincial Officer has died and two people are injured after a shooting east of Ottawa. The provincial police were called to a residence on Laval Street in the village of Bourget, which is about 50 kilometers east of Ottawa, early on Thursday morning, just after 2:00 a.m. This was in response to a complaint that someone had heard a gunshot originating from the residence.
Authorities claim that when three police officers arrived at the scene, someone inside the house fired shots at them. The cops were brought to a hospital in Ottawa, but regrettably, one of the officers was confirmed deceased once they arrived there. Police identified the deceased officer as OPP Sgt. Eric Mueller.
“I hate to inform that OPP Sgt. Eric Mueller has been slain in the course of duty with a very sorrowful heart. More information regarding his fellow cops who are still in the hospital is eagerly awaited. Thomas Carrique, the commissioner of the OPP, tweeted, “Our sympathies are with the officers, their families, and their coworkers.
The extent of the policemen’ injuries is unknown, however the police have reported that they are making a full recovery. At this time, only one person has been taken into custody. The Ottawa Police Department tweeted that its personnel were “supporting an OPP operation in the area of Bourget.” There was no danger to the general public, according to the police.
It is tragic news that Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Eric Mueller passed away after being killed while on duty for no apparent reason. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I kindly ask you to join me in praying for his fellow officers as we wait to learn more about their health. In a tweet, Ontario’s premier, Doug Ford, wished “God bless our heroes in uniform.”
