Glenda Everett Obituary, Death – Mrs. Glenda True Everett, of Kingston, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the comfort of her own home, with her loved ones by her side, following a protracted battle with illness. She was the daughter of Margaret and Allen H. True, who had both passed away prior to the 11th of June, 1943, when she was born. She was their daughter.
Glenda was a well-liked schoolteacher who spent the majority of her 37-year career at Bowers Elementary School in Harriman. She held the position for which she is best known. In addition to that, she worked for a considerable amount of time as the head of the Bowers Elementary School administration. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Vandever; her devoted husband, Robert Buttram; her brother, Tommy H. True (Kay); and her nieces, Lisa Bonafede and Tayler Bonafede, all of whom reside in Kingston, Tennessee.
She is also survived by her step-daughter Julie Shaver and her family, who resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and includes her husband Scott Shaver and their children Owen and Finn. She also leaves behind an uncle and a number of other relatives. Over the course of several years, Elizabeth Bunch, April Bunch, and Sue Givens, Glenda’s caregivers, gave her with sensitive care.
We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to each of these individuals. Additionally, I would want to express my gratitude to the Covenant Health Hospice. In place of the more common flower tributes, the family has asked for contributions to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. On the website of the Evans Mortuary, which is assisting Mrs. Glenda True Everett’s family, there is a place for you to sign an online registry. If that is anything that interests you, please check out our website. A memorial service will be held in the cemetery on a day that will be communicated at a later point in time.
