Following a three-car crash on Woodlawn Road West in front of the Walmart plaza, one person was transported by helicopter to a medical facility situated outside of the immediate vicinity.
During the incident, which occurred at 11:20 a.m., a vehicle sliced a hydro pole in two. “The silver car collided with another vehicle, causing only minor damage to that vehicle; it then struck a pole; and, finally, it collided with a pickup truck,” according to the police report. According to a police spokesperson named Scott Tracey, “(the silver car) clipped the front of (a black) car, then went off the road, hit the pole, and then essentially ricocheted off the pole and hit a pick up truck that was driving by.”
According to police reports in Guelph, one male motorist was brought to the hospital with unspecified injuries. According to police sources, neither of the other two drivers involved in the crash received any injuries. Woodlawn Road is temporarily closed between Woolwich Street and Nicklin Road as crews repair the hydro pole. The closure is required due to construction. People are requested to stay away from the area till further notice. This article will be updated in the not-too-distant future.
