Gurjot Kaur Obituary, Death – The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office was able to positively identify both of the victims who perished in a fatal head-on collision that took place on Highway 4 in the northern part of Stanislaus County. The collision was fatal because it occurred when two vehicles collided with each other in the same direction. A little earlier this week was when the collision took place.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a collision was reported to have taken place on State Route 4 on Monday morning. The location of the crash was approximately 6 minutes and 40 seconds west of Dunton Road. Gurjot Kaur, age 21, of Stockton, was allegedly making an effort to pass a car that was travelling in front of her at a more leisurely rate while she was travelling east in a Honda sedan.
The car was moving ahead of her at a slower speed. When Kaur made her manoeuvre, the California Highway Patrol claims that she was approaching a left turn on the route at the time. They state that this information comes from the CHP.Officer Tom Olsen of the California Highway Patrol claims that she violated the law when she crossed two solid yellow lines at the same time, which is against the law, and that the bend in the road blocked her view, and he believes that this constitutes a violation of the law.
Rudy Mercado, a resident of Copperopolis who was 51 years old and driving a Toyota truck at the time of the accident, was killed when his car was involved in a head-on collision with her vehicle. At the location of the event, medical personnel determined that both Kaur and Mercado had passed away. Kaur was following a vehicle that was not involved in the event when the collision took place, and she was in the rear of that vehicle.
