Joseph Gullo Obituary, Death – Obituary On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in Edison Twp, Joseph J. Gullo, who was 96 years old and from Edison, passed away. He was born and reared in Brooklyn, New York, and before moving to Monroe in 1972, he lived in both Far Rockaway and Queens, also in the state of New York. In 2019, he uprooted his life and moved to Asbury Park to be closer to the Jersey Shore, a location that held a special place in his heart.
Mr. Gullo began his professional life with IBM, and after a lengthy career working in computer networking for AT&T, he retired with the position of project manager under his belt. He was preceded in death by his son Steven Gullo and a grandson Vincent Schipani. Neither of them survived him. His daughters Joanne and Linda Schipani, both of Old Bridge, and Linda and her husband Sean Cavanagh, of Manalapan, are his surviving family members.
In addition, he is survived by his sister, Elaine Egan, as well as his grandchildren Erica, Jack, Christian, Frank, and Joseph, as well as his niece Cheryl and nephew Michael. Sgt. Gullo served his country with honour as a member of the United States Army’s 1st Infantry Division, also known as “The Big Red One.” After working as a chemical operator for a number of years at the company that was once located in Cranbury and known as Carter Wallace, Joe took early retirement in 1999. He had several interests and pastimes, including working puzzles, listening to music, dancing, and supporting the New York Yankees.
