Larry Pickett Obituary, Death – On the afternoon of Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 4:30 o’clock in the evening, a Celebration of Life for Mr. Pickett will be place on the football field at Autauga Academy. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, monetary contributions be sent to either Autauga Academy or Edgewood Academy.
Larry Joseph Pickett, Sr., who was 80 years old when he died, passed away in a peaceful and uncomplicated manner at his home on May 15, 2023 in the city of Wetumpka, Alabama, in the state of Alabama. Larry Pickett was born into the world by his parents, Carl and Juanita Pickett, on September 23, 1942, in the city of Montevallo in the state of Alabama.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Arlene (Jackson) Pickett; his two sons, Larry Joseph (Joe) Pickett, Jr. and Michael Pickett; one granddaughter, Emily Pickett; and his brother Mike Pickett (Joan), in addition to his sister Lori Beth and her family. In addition, he is survived by his sister Lori Beth and her family. Larry pursued his study at Troy University to acquire a master’s degree in educational administration after completing his undergraduate degree at Montevallo University.
He specialized in educational leadership. After that, he decided to make a living working in the field of education. During his more than 50 years working in the field of education, not only did he teach students and serve as a coach for a variety of sports, but he also served as the headmaster of Edgewood Academy, Pike Liberal Arts, and Autauga Academy. In addition, he was a member of the National Academy of Education. He was much liked and loved by tens of thousands of people of all ages, and this caused him to leave an indelible mark on their life. Fishing, golfing, and camping were some of Larry’s favorite things to do in his leisure time when he had some free time.
