Margaret Murphy Obituary, Death –  On March 26th, 1937, Margaret was welcomed into the world in Annapolis, Maryland. She has dedicated her entire life to being of assistance to other people. She put in a total of thirty years caring for patients at the Martinsville Convalescent Center in Martinsville, Virginia, where she worked as a caregiver. After she retired, she devoted her free time to helping for a hospice in her community.

The things in life that Margaret enjoyed doing most were going to church, reading, tending to her flowers, and traveling on exciting excursions. Mrs. Murphy was predeceased by both her husband, Claude L. Murphy, and her daughter, Bonnie Murphy. Claude L. Murphy was also Mrs. Murphy’s father. Both of Mrs. Murphy’s parents, Thomas Amos and Katheryn Amos, had passed away by the time she was born.

Her daughters, Lois Murphy (Lester) of Roanoke, Virginia, and Joyce (Van) Lemons, of Eden, North Carolina, in addition to her honorary son, Jamie Gammons, of Independence, Virginia, in addition to her grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Zack and Kelsey, Ashlee Lemons, and Amber Lemons; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her brother, James A. Amos, of Milford, Delaware; her sisters, Kathy (Richard In the future, the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church will be in charge of presiding over a funeral service that will be held in the cemetery.
