Matthew Monnin Obituary, Death – Matthew A. Monnin, 32, of Versailles, was riding a motorbike when he was involved in an accident that claimed his life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 7:23 p.m.
On December 30, 1990, in the city of Dayton, Matthew Monnin was born. At the time of Matthew’s birth, his parents, Keith and Rita (Rismiller) Monnin, lived in Versailles. Among those left to carry on Matthew’s legacy after his passing are his daughter Ava, who resides in New Bremen, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Parker Housman, who reside in Palestine; his nephews, Charlie and Roscoe Housman; Matthew’s maternal grandfather, Virgil Rismiller, who resides in Rossburg; and Matthew’s paternal grandfather, Donald Monnin, who resides in Russia.
Both of Matthew’s grandmothers passed away before he was born: his paternal grandmother, Mary Monnin, and his maternal grandmother, Connie Harter. Matthew received his high school diploma from Versailles High School in 2009 after graduating. He lived in Versailles and worked at the Dabe Pressure Cleaning company. Matthew enjoyed fishing, kayaking, riding his motorcycle on poker runs, and just hanging out with his buddies and their pets. Additionally, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
On Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., a memorial ceremony will be held at the Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles to celebrate Matthew’s life. Pastor John Hughes will officiate the service. On May 18, 2022, a Friday, Matthew went away. The interment will take place in Versailles’ Greenlawn Cemetery when the funeral service is over. On Sunday, between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pm, friends and family are welcome to drop by the funeral home to pay their respects and commiserate with the grieving.
