Olivia Hendrickson Suicide, Death – On May 13, 2023, Olivia M. Hendrickson, age 17, originally from Maple Lake, passed away unexpectedly in Buffalo. A memorial service for Olivia will be held in Ney Memorial Park in Maple Lake on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 23, 2023, between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Dress in a manner that is comfortable for you and bring a chair. Instead of sending flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to NAMI or The Nature Conservancy.

On August 31, 2005, James and Tamara (Leff) Hendrickson were overjoyed to announce the arrival of their daughter, Olivia Marie Hendrickson. She was born in Buffalo. Her family relocated from Maple Lake, where she had spent her whole childhood, to Utah when she was in the second grade. She hailed from the town of Maple Lake. When she was in the fourth grade, her family moved back to Maple Lake and Buffalo. A lot of progress was made by her.

When we talked, Liv had just finished her second year at Monticello High School and was a junior there. Her favorite things to do included going for walks, painting, writing, swimming, and discovering new places. Olivia had a strong connection to the natural world and the creatures that inhabited it, and she delighted in spending time with both. Protecting the planet was one of Liv’s highest priorities, therefore she gave careful thought to a variety of political approaches. She was determined to achieve her goals and never gave up.

Liv struggled mightily with clinical depression for a number of years. After her illness became too serious, Livvy succumbed to depression, which ultimately led to her death. The thoughtfulness, compassion, and doggedness that Liv exhibited will remain ingrained in our memories forever. Her quick wit and sharp tongue are two qualities that will be much missed, particularly during the times that are typically considered to be more calm.

Olivia is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Tammy Hendrickson; sisters, Kaya and Kyra; grandparents, Jack and Mary Hendrickson and Gary and Mary Lynn Leff; aunts and uncles, Anna Hendrickson, Natalie and Chris McClory, and Chuck Leff; cousins, Brittany Cargill, Shay and Allie McClory; some close friends; and her pets, Tallulah, Delilah, Oslo, Skye, and Reaper.
