Pat Moss Obituary, Richmond County NC, Man Charged With Murder in Fathers Death

Obituary

Pat Moss Obituary, Death – A man who has been imprisoned in the Richmond County Jail for more than two days on suspicion of murdering his own father is now being kept there. The man’s arrest stems from the investigation into the death of the man’s father. On Saturday afternoon, Sheriff Mark Gulledge made the statement that Trevor Kenan Moss, age 20, had been brought into prison.

Moss had been arrested earlier in the day. An investigation has been opened on the possibility that Moss was involved in the passing of his father, Pat Moss. A prior notification that was made by the sheriff’s office noted that deputies were called to a residence on Bed Rock Road at approximately 5:52 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, “in reference to a person being shot.” This information was included in the notification that was made by the sheriff’s office. Bed Rock Road can be accessed from Zion Church Road and is found to the west of Rockingham.

The responding deputies discovered one male victim who had already passed dead at the scene, as stated in the reports. Pat Moss has been determined to be the identity of the victim. Trevor Moss was taken into custody by law enforcement at 11:41 in the morning and booked immediately after his arrest. Since that time, he has been kept without bond at the same facility where he was initially arrested on an open count of murder. This facility is the same facility where he is currently being detained. In relation to this matter, he is going to make an appearance in front of the judge on May 25.

On the afternoon of May 11, the Responsible Officer made an attempt to verify the relationship; however, they were informed through email that the names would not be provided because “some family has not been notified.” On Saturday, the sheriff made the declaration that all members of the family had been told, and the announcement was made public. The courts will continue to operate under the assumption that criminal defendants are innocent until such time as their guilt has been shown beyond a reasonable doubt. This presumption will remain in effect until the case has been resolved.
