Paul Ferguson Obituary, Death – Paul D. Ferguson, 80, of Litchfield died away peacefully on January 1, 2023 at the Rome Bethany Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility. He attended West Winfield Central School and was the son of Harold Ferguson and Mary (Geevis) Ferguson. He was born in Middleville, New York, on July 6, 1942. Paul served in the American Army from 1968 to 1970, and he was pleased to have done so during the Vietnam War.
He married Catherine A. Ball on December 20, 1969, in a ceremony that was held in Cedarville, New York; they have been happily married for 53 years. In addition to owning and operating Paul’s Tire Service in Litchfield, Paul also had a dairy farm that he used as a pleasure. In addition, he drove for Beacon Feed Company and was employed by many other farms in the area that were also managed by families.
The Paul family would like to express their appreciation to the Bethany Gardens staff for giving their loved one such excellent care and compassion. Additionally, they would want to convey their sincere gratitude to the Boulevard Diner in Whitesboro for the superb food, gracious service, and warm ambiance. Paul was a very dedicated and diligent worker who loved caring for his animals, especially his horses and cows. He farmed dairy cattle. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with his tractors and spoiling his cherished grandchildren. Paul made farming his chosen profession since he valued his independence.\ Catherine, his wife and “Main Man,” who survives in Litchfield; daughters Beth Schloicka and Roseann (Michael) Jaquay; grandchildren Connor, Delaney, Gavin, and Colton; sisters Mary Winegard, Fannie Farley, and Esther (Jim) Garretson; brothers Harold (Lilian) Ferguson and Fay (Cindy) Ferguson; and his cherished feline best friend, Charlie, whom he considered his son. His sister, Sally Reed, and brothers Donald Ferguson and Charles Ferguson passed away before he did.
