Please take a moment to read the following: We were all taken aback by the unanticipated passing of our beloved Coach Philly, and it is with heavy hearts that we pass on this information to the members of our community. When Philly first joined the Elite Gymnastics Academy (EGA) Family in 2016, we knew right away that he was going to be a formidable opponent due to the fact that he had previously competed at the highest level.
His unwavering commitment to gymnastics served as an inspiration to both his colleagues coaches and the athletes he competed against. On the very first day, as soon as he went into the gym, it was clear that he belonged there. It was obvious that he was a member there. He took tremendous pleasure in talking about innovative concepts for drills, the accomplishments of his players, and the particular measures that each individual was doing to get closer to accomplishing their goals. The Philadelphia metropolitan area quickly became recognized as a key presence within the USA Gymnastics and Trampoline & Tumbling communities almost immediately.
Philly will be remembered as the Coach that made sure every youngster on the team had a grin on their face by greeting them by name and offering them a high-five or a fist bump as they left the field. In addition to this, he dedicated his time to getting to know each athlete and aiding them in achieving their goals. To everyone he interacted with, he radiated humility, warmth, brightness, and a constructive outlook on life.
He was a shining example of excellence both within and outside the confines of the weight room. We count ourselves among the incredibly lucky people who were able to know him. We are going to feel a profound void in our lives without him. Due to the fact that Philly was one of a kind, we are confident that our community will continue to honor his memory and be influenced by the legacy he left behind.
