Richard Hill Obituary, Death – Everyone in Pine Plains needs to hear the sad news that Richard Hill has passed away, and the Pine Plains ladies auxiliary is the one who has to deliver the message. They do it while having a tremendous burden in their hearts. More than half of Richard’s life has been spent working in the hose industry in Pine Plains.
When Richard first began working for the Pine Plains hose company, in addition to his duties on the fire side, he also served as a member of the rescue squad. During his tenure there, Richard was able to work his way up through the ranks and eventually become a commissioner. In addition to that, he was a trustee for the organization. Richard also spent a year serving as the assistant chief, but the role of captain, which he held for a long amount of time, was the one that he enjoyed the most in the organization.
In addition to that, Richard was employed in the fields of both pump operation and driving education. He was also on the committee for one of our biggest fundraisers that the fire house does, which is the chicken barbecue, along with his buddy Bob Cahill the ladies auxiliary would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Richard’s wife, Marguerite Hill, who is a life member of the ladies auxiliary, and his son Michael Hill, who served as past chief, along with Michael’s wife Christy Hill.
He was also on the committee for one of our biggest fundraisers that the fire house does, which is the chicken barbecue Additionally, he was a member of the organizing team for the chicken barbecue, which is one of the most successful fund-raising events that the fire station hosts.
