On March 20, 1995, Samantha Gail Weinstein was born in Toronto, Canada. She has been acting since she was six years old. She is most recognized for her performances as Josephine in the TIFF Award-winning short film Big Girl (2005) and Heather in the MGM adaptation of Carrie (2013). Samantha also received the 2006 ACTRA award for Best Performance-Female for Big Girl. She is the youngest winner of the award to date, receiving it at the age of ten.
Brooke in the independent film Reign (2015), Violet in The Rocker (2008), and young Hagar in Margaret Atwood’s The Stone Angel (2007) are a few other significant movie appearances. Samantha has appeared in guest spots on shows like Being Erica, Less Than Kind, Copper, and Darknet. Samantha worked on two films with Canadian filmmaker Vincenzo Natali; the first was the independent film Haunter (2013), and the second was Darknet. She has a passion for voice acting and has performed the voices of many cartoon characters over the course of her career.
The Toronto-based garage rock band Killer Virgins, of whom Samantha is the lead guitarist and lead singer, was established in April 2016.
