Sandra Simpson Obituary, Death – Sandra Simpson, our founder, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, has passed away. Sandra had an impact on many lives, including those in her own home, through her global effort, which lasted even in her final days. Her humanitarian endeavours took her to Somalia, El Salvador, Bangladesh, and India. Her life has taken her to war zones and impoverished areas such as Vietnam and Cambodia.
She conducted her life in accordance with her beliefs about the welfare of children and the importance of community. Sandra was moved by the sight of Mohamed, a tiny kid who arrived at Families for Children India in the summer of 2022 and took his first steps on her last day. Sandra had been looking forward to doing this for a year, and her happy grin as she watched Mohamed’s film demonstrated her unwavering enthusiasm and attention to her profession.
All who knew her will attest to her perseverance and convictions, and her life’s work and influence will live on in perpetuity. Her beliefs continue to have a significant impact on the philosophy of her family and Families for Children. Sandra’s staff at Families for Children is a virtual extension of her own family; everyone refers to Sandra as “mummy.” Many of our contributors have supported her vision from the beginning and have helped to develop a community that supports meaningful change as a result of their contributions. The level of emotion showed during the recent Founder’s Day ceremony in India, when FFC youth reconnected, was a strong sign of the organization’s influence. Mom’s favourite season was, without a doubt, spring. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, seeing the new plants and flowers emerge.
