Sharon Brown Obituary, Death – Sharon Brown, adored mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, died on May 4, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born in Detroit on March 28, 1943, the daughter of the late Edward and Mamie (Bojas) Matyas. Sharon went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University after graduating from high school. She met her future husband, Lee Alan Brown, and the two married on March 3, 1973.

He passed away on November 5, 2014. Sharon and Lee relocated their family to Saginaw in the early 1990s, where she maintained her job as a medical technologist. She started working at St. Mary’s new Ambulatory Care Centre, where she worked for 20 years before retiring. Sharon was raised in the Lutheran faith and most recently attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she sang in the chorus. She loved music and was known to attend “Karaoke Night” at Wellspring while she lived there.

Sharon tried to stay active by working or volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Always on the go, she could be seen bowling, golfing, or working in the garden. Her children, Richard Brown and Julie (Troy) Thorington; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Thomas, and Meredith Brown; and two great grandchildren will remember her memories. Sharon is also survived by her siblings, Joan Rymas, Carl (Cheryl) Matyas, Joy (Joel) Wisniewski, Gail (Jay) Thomas, Kay Matyas, Ann (Dave) Wilkes, and John (Dawn) Matyas; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Richard Rymas.
