Shirley Lewis Obituary, Shirley Lewis has Passed Away

Obituary

Shirley Lewis Obituary, Death – She was the eldest of six children and the first of her family to be born at home in Fortson, Washington. 1953 was the year that Shirley received her diploma from Darrington High School. In 1956, she tied the knot with Bob Lewis, and the couple went on to build a house on the Sauk Prairie. There, they brought up their two kids, Bobby and Mike. They took great pleasure in having family and friends around, and if you were lucky enough to have been loved by her, you probably left her home having both had a satisfying meal and stimulating conversation. Her four grandkids, Tazzmarie, Tanielle, Chase, and Dylan, were the true loves of her life and the reason she kept going. Shirley showered her whole attention and affection on them. Quite frequently, she would gloat about how proud she was of each of them in turn.

For thirty years, Shirley was employed as a school bus driver. She invariably had amusing things to tell about her children, and her eyes would twinkle as she recounted the anecdotes. Following her retirement, she joined the Darrington School Board and quickly rose to a prominent position there. Bob and Shirley uprooted their lives and relocated to Camano Island in 2006. Shirley had been under the care of A Holistic Adult Family Home for the past four years, and during that time she had established a reputation for having a sassy demeanour and making clever remarks. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the individuals who provided her with such high-quality medical treatment.

Shirley is survived by her sons; Bobby (Kim), Mike, grandchildren; Tazzmarie (Ryan) Hanks, Tanielle (Jesse) Parks, Chase Lewis, great grandchildren; Robby & Ty Hanks, Peyton & Myles Parks, sisters; Alice Schireman, Fran (Regan) Abbott, Sally Wagner, Michelle (Ray) Vincent; and brother Lucky (Cindy) White, long time friend Nancy Snyder, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Bob, her parents Charlie and Gertrude, her grandchildren Robert Michael, John Paul, and Dylan, and her previous daughter-in-law Myra. Her parents Charlie and Gertrude were both born in the United States.
