Steve Russell Car Accident, Death – A much-loved Northumberland man’s bereaved family has paid homage to him after learning of his tragic death in a motorcycle accident. On Friday, May 12, just before 9.55am, police were notified of a motorcycle-only collision on Sheepwash Road in Ashington, close to the intersection with Bothel Bank.
According to reports, a red Honda motorcycle was traveling north when it crashed with surrounding street furniture on the road for an undetermined reason.
When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered that the rider, Guidepost resident Steve Russell, 54, had died after suffering fatal injuries. Today, Steve’s family published a touching obituary along with a picture of him.
They declared: “As we come to terms with losing our Steve, we are utterly heartbroken and devastated. He was a devoted father and husband who still had so much to live for.

Steve was a good man who enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and dogs.We are still coming to grips with the idea that Steve is no longer with us. He loved the simple things in life, like going fishing or for a bike ride. We, as a family, would like to express our gratitude to everyone for their support thus far and respectfully request that we be allowed space and privacy to process what has happened.
The Force’s Motor Patrols squad initiated an inquiry right away to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. Police are still requesting that anyone who was in the neighborhood at the time come forward with any information that can help their investigation. We remain dedicated to finding answers for Steve’s family and loved ones, and our thoughts remain with them during this trying time.
