Obituary

Thomas Grady Obituary, Death – Thomas Patrick Grady, often known as “Tom” or “Tommy,” had reached the age of 36 when he passed away unexpectedly in Naples, Florida due to natural causes. He was found to have been suffering from a terminal illness. He was a native of the city of Chicago in Illinois. Honored son of Dr. Emmett P. and Teresa A. (nee Stanton) Grady; most loving brother of Maureen (Sean) Cooney, Meghan Grady (William R. Kushner), Emmett J. and Dr. Mary Kate Grady (Dr. Jed Keener); and proud uncle of William “Ryan” and Michaela Kushner, Michael Emmett and Quinn Marie Cooney, and Jack Grady Keener. He was well-known not only for his grin, but also for the contagious chuckle that came along with it.

He had a wonderful presence, was able to make friends with relative ease, and was successful in maintaining his ties with those acquaintances. He lived life to the fullest and was devoted to the people he shared it with during his journey through life. Tom was not only a talented musician who could sing and play the guitar, but he was also an amazing songwriter and had a wide range of musical abilities. A good number of his tracks were written by him. When Tom won over his competitors, which included his family, friends, and neighbors, to capture first place in the First Annual Rib-Off, he put his passion for cooking and barbecuing on full show. Tom was a skilled golfer who, by the time he was 12 years old, had already accomplished more on the course than the majority of his contemporaries.

In the year 2000, Tom shot a hole-in-one at the Ridge Country Club during the Junior Golf Championship. This accomplishment put Tom ahead of the majority of his contemporaries. The Curley Funeral Home, which can be found at 6116 W. 111th Street in Chicago Ridge, Illinois 60415, will be hosting a visitation on Tuesday evening starting at three in the afternoon and continuing until nine o’clock. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, and family and friends are invited to be present at the St. Alexander Catholic Church situated at 7025 W. 126th Street, Palos Heights, Illinois 60463 at 11:15 a.m. in order to prepare for the Mass that will begin at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the funeral services. The cremation took place in a private ceremony.
