Tony Vecellio Obituary, Death – Our hearts go out to Tony Vecellio’s family and friends on the passing of their loved one; please accept our deepest condolences. We had the privilege of knowing Tony for more than four decades, and during that time I witnessed his unending passion and dedication to both our town and the sport of athletics. During that period, we had the honor of knowing Tony. During this time, we were also afforded the chance to become acquainted with Tony.
Tony has devoted his entire life to ensuring that our children have the opportunity to participate in athletics and develop friendships that will last a lifetime at the Randwick Botany Little Athletics Centre, a position he has held since his early days as a committee member and most recently as President. In appreciation of Tony’s outstanding contributions to our community in the year 2000, the Order of Australia Medal was bestowed upon him as a token of our gratitude. This honor serves as a testament to the extraordinary accomplishments that Tony has accrued throughout the course of his life. He worked at the Little A’s restaurant up until the point where his health prevented him from doing so, and he gave his full attention to his job until the very end.
